I got another betta today. Are these definitions right? Cambodian: pink body, red fins. Butterfly: half fins one color, the other half another color. If those definitions are right, then I have a Cambodian Butterfly betta. He has a pink body, but his fins are white/clear on the outer half, and red on the inner half. That's possible, right?

Sure sounds like it. The body color can be other than red but must be the same color on the fins or else it's a multi and not a bf. Here's baby shots of my old red cambo bf named Diablo. Di was a crown tail but the color description remains the same. As he got older his body got a bit more pink. His sister had a very pink body with red bf fins. Where Di's fins are spikey white a veil or hm would be clear or white. I love bf's!! The royal blues and red are striking. To me they are the prettiest betta's.

Red on the fins could be what is called "red wash" Red is the hardest color for breeders to "get rid of" when trying for other colors (like white or even blue) If he is a butterfly the red will be quite even or possibly star-like. Red wash tends to be uneven and spill-like. He sounds lovely. The red and white mix, whether butterfly or wash is a nice combo. And the cambodian body adds a pretty bit.

Starlight, that's a beautiful betta!
And yes, his fins do seem to have a red splatter almost to them. He is beautiful. I got a picture on my phone, I'll try to post it today.
