I was wondering what everyone here thinks, I've been thinking about trying this out, I think that if they ran into each other, they would flare, and just run from each other... seems like what would happen after researching alot.

You'll be gambling. It might appear to work for one minute, or a week, or a month, but as long as they have physical access to each other then a fight is possible.

it is possible. since according to most hobbyist bettas are territorial and since its a rather large tank it is possible to have two bettas without having a case of aggression. Territorial does not mean that they stay within 6" of a single spot all the time. Captive bred bettas do NOT behave like wild bettas. |

Yeah, thats what I'm saying, It would be a 50/50 shot. I've been thinking of giving it a try, I mean, it would be fairly cool to have a tank with two bettas, no dividers... and have no problems with it. But thats just my own opinion. I mean, with as many fish as will be in that tank, I'm sure there will be plenty of distractions... kinda like with females, just on a larger scale.

They are called fighting fish for a reason and if you do some more research, you will find out that sometimes even intermingling females can be a bad idea because this breed of fish is too territorial. |
