Hi! I was just wondering what fish would make good tankmates for female Bettas. I have a 10 gallon tank and am looking for some friends for my females.......any ideas? The few suggestions Wal Mart had (I hate that place...) were some, sad to say, pretty dull or ugly fish. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

im very partial to corys, julis are very active, mine have danios too, i was told not to put long finned danios in but the short finned are fine. mollies too except, i would never put mollies in because they get fungus so much, it might be a danger to the betta. nothing aggressive, nothing long finned. if you get schoolers make sure you get at least 2 of them so they play with each other and dont bother your bettas. i know there are lists, fish can be so different. those are the ones i know are okay for sure.

I've found female bettas can sometimes be more aggressive to other fish than the males. How many females do you have together now? Like ana, I would suggest some cories. They are small, peaceful and will help keep the tank clean by eating food that falls to the bottom. Since you have a ten gallon tank, a few cories and a few female bettas should be plenty for it (no more than one inch of fish per gallon).
