I just setup two 10 gallon tanks I bought form wlamart. They had a special for $23.95 I got the tank, hood, filter and a few other things..Then I purchased a heater for both tanks. I couldn't buy the tank, hood and all seperately for that price. One I divided up for the 4 males. The other I'm going to try with 4 females.. I've placed lots of plants and hiding spaces..The tank is cylcling now so will be a couple days before I do it..From what I've read it says to add all the females at the sametime. I hope this works out. If not I still have their one gallon setups all ready. While I was there I went to check on the bettas.Just to peek. That odd looking betta was still there.HIs fins and body are so different from any of my other bettas. He just is different from my others. I kind of felt sorry for him no one would look at him..He looks more like a female than male. He kind of peek at me through the container and wiggled his body.... ;D So I brought him home..Actually the woman at the register gave him to me.. ;D Keeping my fingers corssed the females get along...... I've named my other two males also.......the white w/ black one I call "Dally" he kind of reminds me of a dalmation and the copper male is "Troy"...The girls are firefly, ava, venus and juliette.... Back to the kids<bettas>

I also just setup a new tank today, a 15 gallon high, with 5 female bettas, and some white clouds. It would probably be a good idea for you to get some kind of schooling fish to distract the females with, so far, so good on my setup, I used water and a filter off another tank, so it's pretty much cycled already! (thank god). So far I've only had one fight, and my tank really isn't that heavily planted, although all the plants are live. ;D Jeremy

:)My tank is filled with alot of silk plants and pvc hiding places..So far I've yet to see any fights.I'll add more fish in the next couple days for distractions.I'll see if I can get white clouds...if not what else would be good to add? The ten gallon i divided up for the males works great!! I've added a plant, a hide cave for each. They really seem to love it...

How about some cory cats? I have a couple of panda cories, and they're fun to watch, and help clean up too.

My 55 gallon tank has 11 female bettas and unless I add new ones then things are pretty calm. Females will develope a pecking order and some fins may be frayed. Use Stress Coat frequently and manage finrot if it occurs. For the most part my fish get along great. I also have 3 platys, 7 guppies 3 cory cats and a plecostamus in my tank without problems.
