I was at the pet store when I came across "half moon bettas" I had never seen these before, but I decided I didn't like them as much. Then a guy working there pointed out these crown tail bettas They are soooo pretty! I liked them so much I bought 3. So now I have a red one, a turquoise one, and a patriotic (red, white, & blue) one. I have them in a 2 1/2 gallon tank (which i plan to uprade in the near future) w/ dividers. My only concern is my patriot, is really aggresive toward the red one. I currently have Patriot in the middle, should I move him away from the red guy? or will Patriot just get used to him? He seems so intent on the red guy that he's not even eating, is this normal or do I just have a bully fish?

If I'm thinking of the tank setup you have, its the 2.5 with the glass dividers right? Well the glass is see through, making them able to see each other very well. They will get used to seeing each other a lot and stop flaring as much. I would get some silk plants or something to make a little hiding spot to just relax in.

yeah i agree with bcroft. I have my 2 guys in a 2.5 divided tank and at first they would flare at each other CONSTANTLY!!! but after a month or two they got "used to each other". But like bcroft said, have some plants for them to hide and relax in.

The fanciest I see are crowntails (which started showing up at petcos in the fall) and my lps just started getting what they call roundtails (I'll have to look again to see for sure). I'd freak out and try to finagle a way to get a HM if I saw them in my stores.

The small local pet store near me has some crown tails so I am lucky. All my Walmarts ever have though are veiltails.
