;DI am so haapy about a week ago when I brought Chuck and Champ home they immediatly starting making bubble nests and it made me sad as none of my other three have ever done it. Well here I am sitting down typing away when I see my oldest Charlie(2 yrs old) working on his first bubble nest. It's pretty cool to see and it makes me so happy.
Just thought I would share ;D

Congrats on the Bubblenests! You truly can't appreciate them until you see them. I hope your boys continue to build bigger and better nests.

How often to Bettas make them?
I have a filter in my tank, and while the current isn't strong, there is some water movment. Could this be why mine has never made one?

some bettas make them, some don't. I have one guy that never has blown one. Another one of mine will ONLY blow them in the hospital tank. Most of the time if there is a filter they will not make one...unless there is a protected area. I've got plants near the surface in my tanks that end up blocking the filter current and my guys will blow them in there.

I had my old betta a year and a half and he never made one. My current betta makes them all the time. He's not the greatest at them though because he spreads it out along one or two walls of his tank, lol. He's a funny little guy that I love so much.

The Bettas that I have did not make a bubble nest is that ok for them not to make them? They are fun to have and funny to look at have one in the kitchen and ever time I am in there he just keeps looking anf looking at me to see what I am doing. Had one that would look at me whan I was doing the dishies it was so funny to see him look at me when I was in there and then I had another one that would look at me when I was in the living room. kape his eye on me the whole time I in there I love them they are fun. It is very normal for a Betta not to do bubble nests. Some will make them sooner of later, while I have heard that there are bettas that rarely do bubble nests.

Some grow out of them too. The older ones I've made them when they younger, but stopped later

I've had my fish for 2 days and he's been working on a nest since the first night I had him. I disturbed it this afternoon during a water change. Merlin went right back to work though, and his bubble nest is bigger than ever! I guess I'm doing something right- he's perky and active all the time. He'll take bloodworms right out of the tweezers I use to feed him- today he actually jumped out of the water and grabbed the worm before I had time to let it go!
