Tovi
April 7, 2003 - August 7, 2003
Tovi, you were my first rescue and my first female! I remember when I first saw you I was "just looking" at Petco. I saw you with your fins ripped up so badly and darting around with fear stripes in that little tank. You were the first female betta I ever saw in real life. I knew I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I didn't take you home. So I went back to Petco and brought you home with me, not knowing if you'd last the night.
But you lasted just over four months! You made it through ich that killed Merlyn, a much healthier and older fish than you! I was able to watch you and your fins grow so much. You were the puppy I never had.
It was so much fun watching you beg for food and follow my finger. I know we had a special bond when I first found you, or you found me. I would pet you through the glass when I thought you were dying from ich. You would just lay there and be like "thanks". You always loved it when I was around you. You'd swim up to my finger and would stay still for me and only me to pet you.
Even when I knew you were going yesterday, you would still start waving your pectoral fins whenever I came to check on you. You were my little sweetheart and I'm going to miss you!
This is a picture I took several days after I rescued Tovi:
This is one a couple months ago:
And this is Tovi just s few weeks ago:
Sorry the pics are so big!
[glow=red,2,300]Rest in peace Tovi!! I will always love you![/glow]
