Spike, my mom's blue CT, was euthanized today after nearly 2 weeks of being curled in a ball at the bottom of his tank. Extremely top-heavy, Spike couldn't surface on his own to eat, and had to be netted at meal times so that the food could be placed near his mouth. I assume something went horribly wrong with his swim bladder, and we decided he couldn't be comfortable in his state, which was not getting better.
Please note that this was not normal sbd and could not have been cured by feeding the fish a pea. He was eating and passing his waste normally. The swim bladder organ itself seemed to have been, I don't know... broken.
