Annie had been battling dropsy since July 26. She fought like a brave little girl but finally decided that she couldn't fight any more and her poor little body finally gave out. R.I.P. little Annie, what a precious little sweetie you were.

Thanks guys, I will miss her. That pic was taken when I first noticed she was ill, you can see her scales sticking out if you look closely. I seriously thought about puting her out of her misery the night before she died, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I knew she wasn't long for this world, she had lost all color and looked so very tired of fighting her illness.

I'm so sorry about Annie. What a brave girl she was to be fighting this since July 26. I have lost one betta to the dreadful dropsy, and I never want to see it happen again. I only have one little girl named Sally (and lots of boys), and Sally's coloring looks a lot like your Annie. What a sweetheart.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about little Annie...I really thought she'd pull through. What a tough little fighter she was, and such a beauty. I know you took very care good of her and did everything you could. She was in the best possible care and had a good life with you and your Betta bunch to the end.
RIP, Annie.

I thought she was getting better too. Her scales looked like they were starting to lie down a bit and I was really getting hopeful. I knew she probably wouldn't make it. Dropsy is almost always fatal since the pinecone symptom doesn't show up until they have kidney problems, but I just had to try. As you can see from the pic, she didn't look very swollen when I caught it. My poor little Annie...
