Goodbye Cloud (and Purple too)

Cloud was a good fish. I bought her at the LFS, around the same time I bought Flame and Angel. She seemed a little stressed,but not badly. I tried her and the other two all in my Eclipse Explorer. It didn't go so well. So I put a divider in and took one of them out. Their fins seemed to heal quickly, but now I am thinking that they never really healed on Cloud. She seemed okay, just a little shy and depressed for a while. Then I accidentally overfed her. Ever since then, she was bloated. I didn't feed her for a few days, then started to feed her Gerber baby food peas. Then I noticed that basically her whole left fin was gone and that her fins had suddenly got black edges. I added some Jungle Fungus Clear, even though deep down I was pretty sure she wouldn't live. I found her dead the next morning. So goodbye Cloud, and I am sorry...

Purple died a few weeks ago, even though I never got around to posting about him. He was one of my first bettas, who lived through a whole bunch of beginner's errors. Then he was moved to the Divided Eclipse Explorer (females weren't here yet) with the divider installed incorrectly. So he got to the other side and fought with the other betta. As soon as he started to heal some, he got what I think was a bacterial infection, and an odd lump on one of his long fins, which fell off. I tried Tetracycline, but it was too late. He died the next day. Goodbye Purple, and I will never put that divider on wrong again.

I'm awfully sorry about your two Bettas. It's especially hard to lose more than one in a short time.

I'm very sorry about the loss of Cloud & Purple. They were so lucky to have such a caring keeper!

I also had a betta named Cloud that i just noticed died i will be making a post on him after this one and im sorry to hear of your losses may they both rest in peace
