Our turquoise beauty, Betty, did not make it through the introductory phase of a recent, female betta tank set-up. I'm not sure she was 100% when we placed all of the girls together, earlier this week. Her evident stress, combined with removing her within hours of being bullied, must have been too much for her. She died sometime during the night Wednesday. I have never lost a betta due to stress or a water change, so I'm heavy with guilt. So sorry, Betty. We'll miss you!

So sorry to hear of the loss BettaBGood. There was no way to have known it would have been too much for her. It really wasn't your fault.

BettaBGood, I'm so sorry that you lost your girl. Please don't blame yourself, though; there's no way to know if a group of females is going to work out unless you try it, and you acted quickly to remove her when it didn't. That's all that anyone could do. It sounds like she may have had some problems to begin with, and would have passed on regardless. RIP Betty. sef

Thank you all for your thoughts & kind words. (My 8-yr. old, Ruthie, performed a little burial for Betty, who is now resting near our beloved Sheltie of 13 years, Maggie Mae).
