Butterscotch, our fourth betta, lost his life to Velvet (I think) about 10 days ago. He was a little over 2yrs. old, and his color was exactly that of his name. One of our sweetest bettas, we often thought he would be a great "lap betta," if such a thing was possible! His home was in our kitchen and he was quite interactive - we really miss him. His tank wasn't disassembled right away & for a day or so, we would glance over, just waiting for him to playfully stick his head out from behind a plant! GOODBYE, "SCOTCH!" You're missed, pal! (On a brighter note, Butterscotch's "flaring buddy" & neighbor, Legolas, also a "blonde", had the exact same symptoms & we were able to save him.)

Sorry to hear about your loss.
Sounds like he must have been a special little friend.

Oh BettaBGood, I'm so sorry about Butterscotch. Why do these little guys' lives have to be so short? It's not fair. Thankfully Legolas was able to recover from illness. RIP, sweet little Butterscotch. sef

Sorry to hear of your loss. My Kaluha is a kitchen"lap fish" as well and I know how much of an impact the little fellows have on you.
I am glad you were able to save Legolas.

BBG, I am so sorry you lost Butterscotch. It sounds like you really got to know him and enjoy him and two years is not such a short betta life. It is a blessing that you were able to save Legolas.
