I have a Betta and one of my friends said that my Betta looks like a female.
I looked it up and all of it makes it seem more and more like a female.
1. It is red 2. It has a duller color 3. It has streaks 4. It is less active 5. It has smaller fins.
If anyone can help me out, thanks.

Hi Ice and welcome,
I've moved your topic to the Non-Urgent Betta questions as it isn't an emergency.
Anyway, it does sound like your betta may be a female. Female's have shorter fins and fear more stripe easily. They also have breeding stripes when they're full of eggs and ready to breed. You may also notice a small white tube coming out of her body underneath, just under her head when she's full of eggs, this is an ovispore.
She shouldn't be any less active than the male's though and should be just as bright and colorful.

Hello Ice,
I have 2 females and they are very lively. Not as colorful as the males, but pretty in their own right. They also have that "little white thingy" between their bottom fins. Mine aren't loaded with eggs since they aren't being mated, but it does stick out just a little. That's how I knew they were females, before I became a little more savy.
Have fun with your betta.

I don't see a white thing under it. I can barely see under it, lol.
Also, I see the male betta, which I know is male, squirming trying to get to Nemo(The Betta who may be a girl). Would that be a mating thing or is Jake(the male fish) trying to fight with Nemo?

IcE,
Check out the picture board. There are several pictures of other members males and females...

Could you possibly post a picture for us to see? Maybe we can tell (or maybe not LOL).
Male bettas will react to other males if they can see them, so that doesn't necessarily mean that Nemo is a girl.

From the post at the Picture board, I think (like I said there, too) that they're both boys. Girls have very short fins.

I have some pictures of my girls with some commentary here: petfish.net/amber_betta.htmYou can look there if you want, and see the difference between my girls and your red fish, who looks to have longer fins that females would, based on his picture. It's also a myth that females are duller than males. Mine are very bright and vibrant. I've never heard that they were less active than males before, but I can assure you that they are quite active little things Amber

You have a female betta because what you described is the same as my female betta. They are also smaller.
