I'd posted yesterday elsewhere here that he was sick, and I found this morning that my Ghoti had died during the night. He was a good fishy. My first. I had him for just under four months, a little blue pet store mutt of a fishy. He wouldn't flare at a mirror, but did flare enthusiastically when he met Attila, my newer fishy. I had to keep a piece of cardboard between their tanks because they'd have flared all day! I laughed like a loon when they started flaring at each other that day, even though I know they meant business. Ghoti wasn't much of a bubblenest builder, but last night I caught him blowing a few bubbles. They're still there. So the last thing I saw him doing was trying his little fishy darndest to blow me a nest, isn't that sweet? I knew something was up when he wouldn't eat at all yesterday. He'd been reluctant to eat for the past few days but always had. He even ate an hour after I brought him home. He wouldn't eat for my mom, though! Neither will Attila. I guess I must be popular with my fishies. I'll miss him, but he got me started on bettas, and for that I am grateful. I'll not be finding another guy right now, but in the next month or so I hope to. Have fun in fishy heaven, Ghoti. There's lots of good bettas up there.

Thanks. It's sad to lose a fishy.
