This is dedicated to Omega, who passed away 11/16/04, but also for Jimmy, Mike, and Alpha, his friends who are with him now. Sapphire and ruby, A sparkling jewel Your colors flash as you dart through your pool. Bright eyes wink as you look up at me Trusting and friendly as you can be. My little friend who swims all day You watch me work and you want me to play. You are so small, yet have so much to give And the time that you're here is a short time to live. I'll miss you so much, and I pray that you know I never wanted to see you go. Sapphire and ruby have faded to brown And as we lay you into the ground We cry with grief, we kneel to pray And we know you are swimming free today.

What a beautiful tribute made me cry too Omega was a very lucky fish to have been adopted by such a loving, caring family. I know you are missing him terribly.

Cheart, is that Shimmers in your photo? How beautiful he was!! I am sorry for your loss too. It doesn't really matter if we have them for a day or years, they are special beings. I used to have an aquarium and although I had fish I liked, I never attached to them the way I have to our bettas. It's raining here today but I just buried Omega. Thanks for the support. I hope I can make others feel better someday.

Thanks, abm, it's simple but it expresses our feelings. I hope my sons like it too.
Our solo fish Jeff has been much quieter since his buddy passed away. I put his tank on the kitchen table so he can be in the center of the action and so I can put a mirror up for him from time to time. Like the child that's left after a sibling dies, he's going to be overwhelmed with attention now.
Thanks again for the support, both now and through the others' passings.
