Well, it finally happened. My Pentecost died peacefully overnight. He's had a long struggle with swim bladder failure and subsequent difficulty surfacing for air and for food. Still, even as late as last night around 10, he wriggled his way triumphantly to the surface and scarfed down his dinner I'm not sure if it was the sbd that got him, or an unexplained swelling (tumor?) in his abdomen - he'd been in epsom salt several times recently and the swelling had gone down a bit but recurred last week:( the epsom salt didn't really seem to help, and there was definitely no pineconing - just lots of internal swelling, which didn't impede his spirit one bit Pentecost was truly a joy to have around. Despite his swim bladder condition, which I think was caused by horrendous water conditions in his early months, he never complained, was always eager to eat and to play, and always showed appreciation for food and attention. He compensated for his sbd by finding sturdy leaves and other flat spots close to the water surface on which to "lounge" Pentecost is already missed terribly

I'm sorry that you lost him abm. He sure was a trooper throughout his life with you.

That he was:) A good-natured little guy who could have been depressed and uncooperative but instead he choose to live his life as best he could:) I miss him. His shelf is empty.

Dear ABM I am very sorry about Pentecost. I know the kind of sadness you are feeling. I have a similar empty shelf at my house. I know he had the best of everything with you. RIP Pentecost
