Poor Fritz and Fronze found in a shattered mess of glass and stones, and dried up water, though Fronze barely survived but a few hours after being found. Fritz fought for life, and fooled us all into thinking he was going to live through yet another out of water experience... but alas, mebeing an insomniac can not pass by his home with out peeking in to say hi, only to find my beloved Fritz having gone on with his next door neighbor Fronze. I missed them both already and the culprit of the unmentionable crime has been sentenced to no can food or cat nip for a week.... she'll have to learn to survive on kitty kibble and water. Until she realizes bettas are family too and not food. with love my Fritz i miss you already and you to my Fronze, may you both be happy in fishy heaven

Nice bettas you had there. I missed them both already and the culprit of the unmentionable crime has been sentenced to no can food or cat nip for a week.... she'll have to learn to survive on kitty kibble and water. Until she realizes bettas are family too and not food. It is unfortunate what happened, but taking care of our fish and making sure their environment is suitable and safe is our responsibility. In the future you could make sure their tanks are covered as well as out of reach from curious kids or kittens to try to prevent disaster before it has a chance to occur.

That's just the thing we're still trying to figure out how she did it. The shelf they were on was too high for my son to reach and not big enough for any cat to jump up to just big enough for the boys to sit on. And they had a lid on the mini tank too. We're still stooped over it. At first we figured she climbed the corner of the wall or the other shelves to get there but lack of claw marks on the shelves and wall nix that theory, and none of the glass horses set up around there were disturbed either. And aside from the dinning room table there's nothing close by she could of jumped from. Our only clues where the disturbed table cloth. We think she just took a flying leap from there into the boys home knocking them down. Out of the two cats we have we know it was Kit-kat cause the other (Storm) is as lazy as they come. I think in the future my husband and i decided that it may be best to confine Kit-kat at night to prevent this from happening again, as no one's around to supervise her at night. That or lock her out of the rooms where the fish are.
