I just lost the first betta I had...he outlived the others I've had since. Blue Fish (ala Dr. Suess) was a gift from my wife. He was active and friendly and tough as nails. He survived an attack by the two cats of the house who knocked over his tank. The fish wasn't moving when we came home and found him, but he somehow survived, albeit with his color wrecked and fins ravaged. He outlived his tank mate who succumbed to dropsy. His next tankmate found a way around the divider in the tank and attacked him, almost completely destroying his fins. This he survived as well--he was a trooper. After 3 years (I consider this a long time for a common store bought betta) he finally passed away. This was the coolest fish I knew, friendly and not aggressive, even with other bettas. You will be missed, Blue Fish.
