Apparently my guys are all reaching the end of their lifespans at the same time.... Tomahawk died suddenly on Saturday morning - ate fine on Friday night, was happy to see my son returned from camp, then on Saturday morning was on the bottom, grey. I'm glad he didn't linger and suffer. Then on Monday, Taz died suddenly. He ate fine Monday morning, although he had been "slowing down" in recent weeks - I thought it was probably the heat - our air conditioner is on its last legs and with temps in the mid-90's by day and down to 80 at night if we're lucky, the house temp isn't going down much below 80. His tank water per the thermometer was right at 80, a couple degrees warmer than his usual 78, but not wildly out of whack. We miss you guys You were fun companions, both for us humans in the house and for your flaring partners - Kelso misses Tom so much, and poor Moonie is alone again (Taz moved over near Moonie after Max died in the spring).

So sorry for your losses. It's so hard to lose them and especially 2 in one week. They really do become part of the family. Ella

Thanks everyone I know you all understand that these are pets, not "just fish" I guess this is what happens when you "collect" all your bettas near the same time...assuming they were close to a year old when I got them all, they're all right around 2.5+ yrs old now.... On the plus side, all 5 of my guys are currently happy and healthy
