Rest in peace, big guy. Yesterday I noticed the blood at the tips of his fins again. I thought it was weird that he'd fall prey to ammonia poisoning yet again, when I had been changing his water more, but I stuck him back in a cup with bottled water again. Tonight, a few hours after a water change, my roommate told me that she heard him flipping around in his cup a lot. I thought he was jumping. I went to look - I saw him gasping and bobbing. It was the picture of a fish in his death throes. I don't know what went wrong. I had fed him only a couple of hours before, and he ate all his pellets happily. He flared at his neighbor. And then, suddenly, bam. I noticed he had air bubbles in his fins when he died, and I am wondering if that is a symptom of a disease I'm unfamiliar with. If anyone has any info, please let me know. I want to know what the killer was. His tank water tested 0 for ammonia. He was not bloated, or pineconed in any way. No red spots, cloudy eyes, inflamed gills. He looked the picture of health, and he's now dead. I'm heartbroken over the loss of my pineapple boy.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Minaku. I hope you'll be able to figure out what happened so that in the futur this doesn't happen to another of your fish.
