my little friend MEAN Minny passed away this afternoon due to an intestinal blockage. he was a plucky little guy and fought to live for three weeks, i tried everything but nothing worked. he was a little red betta, very lovely. at least he isn't suffering any more but i will sure miss him.

I am sorry. I was thinking how incapable we are, but we still strive for it just like your little guy. Sometimes the most complex cases can be solve with simple answers, if only this was the case...

Helen, I'm sorry for your loss . I love the reds too...they do seem to have personalities that match their coloring.

Hi Helen. Thanks for your kind words about my Bombadil. I'm so sorry about your little guy. I wonder if anyone has ever done a study to see if there's anything about the change in seasons or weather that can suddenly make them susceptable to illness? I know I'm probably just grasping at straws, but it would be interesting to know. A friend of mine told me I should think of Bombadil as a little fishy spirit, swimming freely through the house now. I kind of like that.
