Absolutely gorgeous fish!
That chinchilla is sooo cute! I was looking at some at the pet store today, but I knew hubby would have a fit if I brought one home LOL. Are they easy to care for? Are they smart? what kind of temperment do they have? I really really want one! LOL

They are absolutely wonderful pets. It's best to get one when they are still young, around three or four months, then you can really bond with them. They are very smart, most are very friendly, as long as they were raised in a good environment. They don't like to be held and cuddled, but they do like to be scrathced around their ears and under their chin, kind of like a cat. They aren't all that hard to care for, they do require a very large cage, and even some time outside of the cage to run and hop around, they have a LOT of energy. Their nocturnal, so they wake up a night, feeding them is relatively cheap, just timothy hay and good quality chinchilla pellets (and occasional treats, these guys are real beggers for raisons and papaya, but should only have them sparingly ) They get hot easily since they have so much fur, so in the summer they need to be in an air conditioned room. And they LOVE to play, they need various toys, and new ones often, like cardboard toobs, wood chews, stuffed dog toys, etc.... They make really great pets though, I got mine when he was four months old, he's almost two years now and I absolutely love him. They do live for quite a long time, average of 10-15 years, so they are a pet that you will have for quite a while.

Megan, What gorgeous bettas! (I've been to your site a couple of times with plans to adopt, but others always beat me to the HOLD/SOLD punch - pout pout - I'll keep trying...) And Mr. Chin is just too cute! Thanks for sharing!

What a wonderful menagerie you have. I envy you the beautiful males. One day I'll make my cross-over to a male betta, but for now, I'm still learning about the females. The macaw is AMAZING!!

Wow, a macaw! That is too cool! The last time I saw one of those it was at the Birmingham Zoo.
All of those animals are great.

I stopped in a small pet store before going to Petco to get Morty... I almost couldn't resist a little betta. He looked just like Seraphin and as soon as I laid eyes on him I remembered Seraphin and this adorable picture! The only thing that stopped me was that he seemed a bit skittish and I wanted a healthy betta since I've lost all of mine to illnesses... just thought I'd share that. Seraphin really is adorable in that pic!
