Here is the little fellow that hubby and I rescued from WallyWorld on Sunday. He was the last (living) guy on the shelf. A little tattered here and there, but we think he's quite beautiful:

He looks like he's posing for the camera, how cute! He's beautiful sef, I'm always partial to red bettas since red is my favorite color. Congrats to you and to Napoleon for finding you. He is one lucky little guy.

I Love RED Bettas, too I bought my Max 3 weeks ago and he's a beautiful deep red with an under color of blue. Good luck, and what a fitting follow to Horatio! Long Live Napoleon! BTW, what is "WallyWorld"? I live in Phila. and I've never heard of it.

Napoleon is beautiful! and lucky you found him. Where did you get the great decorations in his tank? They set him off beautifully and I have never seen any like them.

sef, He's so handsome! (And lucky, too, to have such a great Mom!) AuntieM, WallyWorld is a nickname for Wal-Mart. Although, I also like sef's "Mal-Wart..." Around here (Smalltown, USA), all you have to say is, "heading to Wally," and it's understood. (We do have a mall, too, though! )

He's a beautiful little guy. I really like your tank decor too. He's lucky that he found someone who is going to take good care of him and give him such a pretty home.

Thanks to all of you! Napoleon is doing really well, but showing signs of some pretty ragged fins. I'm using Melafix to try to mend them. Also, we got another new addition to the family -- Uki, the Black Bear Hamster! Picture is a little dark, but he's a noctural kinda guy:

The decorations were at our local pet store. They were so unusual that I had to have them for the tank. It's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but they are ancient castles in a forest, and there are lots of nooks and crannies to swim in, under and around. Napoleon seems to love investigating every one of them! LOL

Napolean is a really pretty guy! My 'rescue' still has some finnage probs, but nothing to write home about. I have been using melafix for about 3 weeks, and will continue for another week. Other than some minor fraying, he acts completely healthy, so I don't think it will be a problem, but I'll keep my eye on it to make sure it doesn't worsen. You're little hamster is adorable!!! I'll be moving from this little apt. to a house next year and I can't wait! I will have a hard time not filling the place up with critters! But I did promise my 4 yr. old daughter that she could get a guinea pig....it's great to have small kids! Since I love animals, I'm not the type to say, "You have to promise to take care of it...", cause I love taking care of them myself....*evil laugh*

Bettabrat, Good luck with your rescue! Like yours, Napoleon's fins may be a little tattered, but his spirit is in tact. He's a great little guy.
