We adopted a baby guinea pig last weekend. His name is Sebastian and he's a little ball of fast-moving fluff! ;D

sef, He is too cute! Any chance he's named for the gentleman who played the plump butler on Family Affair (Sebastian Cabot/"Mr. French)?

I loved that show as a kid, and of course had a Mrs. Beasley doll (somehow it never was quite the same as the one on t.v.) But actually, no. Believe it or not, he's named after Sebastian Telfair, a U of L basketball recruit. ;D sef

Sef, when I read the title of your post, I thought you had got a new betta - but your little guy is super cute anyway. Oops! Sorry! I guess that was a little misleading, wasn't it? I just changed it to "non-Betta Baby." But thanks! He is just a little doll, and LOVES belly rubs. sef

Sebastian is so cute! He looks so tiny! Guinea pigs make the cutest little noises sometimes!

Thanks! The pet store said he's about 12 weeks old, but I tend to think he's a little younger. He fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. Yes, they can vocalize quite a bit. Bassy makes a sort of cooing sound when my husband holds him and rubs his belly. Then he also makes a louder pitched squeal when he knows food is on the way. Then they have this cool thing they do called "popcorning" when they are really happy...Sebastian will run around his cage and suddenly jump straight up into the air! It's a real hoot. Wish us luck; we're looking for a male buddy for Sebastia to keep him company. Guinea pigs really do better in pairs, so the rescue group is helping us find a match. sef

AWWW!!! What a sweetey! I almost got a guinea pig once, but ended up getting a service dog in training puppy instead. BUT I hope to still get a piggie someday. I love their cute little noises.
