Aren't bettas cute when they...
...do the hoochie-coochie with the mirror, beating their tails like a really cool dude?
....look at you, then tip their nose up towards the top of the bowl, as if pointing to where you should be placing their food RIGHT NOW, thank you very much?
...wait for you to proudly place them in their lovingly arranged and cleaned home, then they immediately push all the gravel around and rearrange the whole place, glaring at you as if you offended them somehow?
How about some others? I'm sure there are lots of cute betta habits out there...

...jump up and bite at your fingers if your more than half a second in dropping their pellets.
...point out any spots caused by dripping water on the sides of their tank. "Hey, this isn't clean enough yet"
...be real sound asleep and wake when you go to feed them, then swim like madbettas around their bowl, then look at you like "what, what's going on here?"

...when someone walks into the room and stands next to their tanks, how they dart over to the edge and eye the person, hanging out as if they're both checking the person out, and waiting patiently to be petted or fed.
...when I'm 5 feet away from their tanks, and I wave my hand suddenly, how they dart over to check out what's going on, then beg to be fed.
...when their tanks were closer to my monitor, how they'd stare at the screen while I played Avernum (a graphical RPG.)
...when they're suddenly curious or frightened at something, how their dorsal fin stands up like floppy ears on a dog.
...whenever I add something new or return something after cleaning it to their tanks, how they go over and explore it, of course nipping at it *just in case it's food*.
...how they squeeze themselves in between their thermometers and the side of the tank, with their dorsal fin pressed up against the suction cup, and make bubblenests.
...the little upward gasp-of-air and turn-of-head-to-spit-it-out they do when they make bubblenests.
...how Wicket swims into my hand whenever I'm rearranging stuff in his tank.
...how they stay above their sponge filters, and chase the airbubbles coming up out of them.
...when they dart into their clumps of Java Moss, and dart out, leaving a fish-shaped hole.
...how Wedge used to wrestle with his stand-up thermometer, and push it around the tank until he finally found a place he was ok with.

...make that crunching sound when they eat ...jump when they want to be fed (Simon was doing that first and now Bubba's doing it too) ...flare when you make kissy faces at them or pretend to bite them ...do that little dance and than wait for you to do it ...flare at each other ...flare at the cats ...beach themselves on their plants ...doing nothing lol

As you might be able to see from my avatar, Beta-1 has several polyhedronal dice in his tank with him.
He will often swim down and thrash about near the dice, "rolling" them essentially. He's particularly enamored of the orange 20 sider.
