Last Thursday we replaced our first betta that passed away earlier this month. We were looking for one of a different color than the first one, who was all red. We picked up what appeared to be a lovely blue one - but when we got him home in a lit tank we noticed he had a reddish body and half blue/red fins. Oh well. But the two colors go great together. He started making a bubble nest in the first two days. I could tell he was ecstatic to be out of that small cup the pet store kept him in. When I sit with him he just dances up a storm. Too bad the Olympics are over, he could've won a gold medal. He's getting spoiled too. I bought some freeze-dried bloodworms for him as a treat to go with his usual flake food. He didn't know what to make of the worms at first but after he got a small taste of one he attacked the rest. I've uploaded a good picture of him to: home.comcast.net/~billkirkpatrick/fish_from_side.jpg

As much as it hurts my macho self to say this...I like the tank decor.
*shudders* good, now that I've got that out of my system =)

Your fish is beautiful! He is so lucky to have you as an owner. Do you have a heater in that tank? If so, what kind? I was just wondering because I have that same tank, and was looking for a heater for it.
Thanks, Lucy

It's probably a bit too big for that small one gallon tank but it was the lowest wattage heater I could find.
