early this month we lost our beloved sickle, it was a horrible loss, considering we just lost our very first betta, chopper, after 3 1/2 yrs a few months prior. Well I couldn't help myself and went out the very next day and found Diesel!!!! They had him labeled as a split tail half moon. Well after an hour of trying to decide, and then some investigation for hours online I realized I have a true heart tail betta. The way you can tell is that he is actually a double tail that is not completely split and the rear fin then forms a shape of a heart. We are just sooo in love, he has a great personality and his color is amazing!!!! It's wild, never seen it before. From what I have read from several sites, a hearttail is really a defect in a doubletail, but breeders have been trying to breed this defect unsuccessful. I will try and get better pics, as friendly as he is he is a little zipper and hard to photo, so enjoy!!!
