Umeko (pink), Sho (blue/red) and one of my zebra danios Gin (blue), Umeko (pink) and my yellow snail Zorak Close-up of Gin Kaidra, my pretty little male. I thought he was purple when I bought him, but his color has gotten more red as he's become healthier. In Japanese Umeko means "plum blossome child", Gin means "silver", Sho means "thriving" and Kaidra is based on Kaida which means "dragon".

Oh no! He was just in the little bowl as a quarantine. He's now in a divided 5 gal with my other male.
Thanks for all the compliments. ^^

that's a 5 gallon, right? Is that a homemade divider, or one made for a mini-bow? I've been trying to find one with no success.
They look GREAT!!! what a pretty setup!!

I'm interested in hearing about your divider too. It looks like the one I just bought at Petsmart for a 10 gallon tank.
My divider has that same blue color on the borders. It is clear on the divider part with tiny holes. I tried putting 2 of my males into my new divided 10 gallon tank, but they charged each other and flared like crazy and wouldn't go anywhere but right to the divider. I know it takes a while for them to get used to seeing each other, but it was to the point where one started swimming really funny and I thought something was wrong. I took him out and but him back into the 1 gallon tank. He started swimming normally, so I guess it was just him getting crazy over the other one. I'm headed back to the petstore to get TONS more plants to go by the divider.
Sorry for so much info, but I just would like to hear about your divided tank too.

I bought a divider for a 10 gallon (at Petsmart) and cut it down to fit the 5 gallon. I had to cut off about an inch and a half; I used metal clippers and a razor blade. The clear plastic has holes in it - so the filter can move the water around. I also left about 2 inches of the clear plastic so that it would go all the way to the top of the lid - I don't want them jumping over the divider and getting each other. It's attached on the back with the pin/clip it came with. It doesn't move much but I have it wedged between some rocks.
My blue male was freaking out when I put them in the tank. He's a little older than the red male. The red male couldn't care less about the blue male. Anyway, they've been in there for about 2 weeks and they're getting along fine. You just have to make sure that they have places to hide from one another. It seems like if one's out of sight, the other doesn't think it's there. During feeding time they're funny. They see food on the other side of the divider and try to get it.
You can see how happy they are by all the bubbles! Every night they each build a bubble nest that covers half the top of the tank! I take it out every other day so that they can build more. It's like they have a little competition going on. ^^
I'm going to put a few large ghost shrimp in the tank soon. I'm on vacation now, I'll be home on Sunday. I live in Orlando and can't find the ghost shrimp anywhere! I found a petstore here that I can get 10 for $1, so I'm going to take like 20 home. Lol

Thanks for sharing about your divided tank. I think I may have a little better set up now. Went back to the store and got more plants and a thin piece of plastic for the divider. I poked some holes in it and put it together with the divider I had. It isn't totally non see through, but it's not as bad. It took my fish a while before they even noticed that they can see shadows of each other. They do flare, but it's not non stop. The tank looks really nice now with all the new plants too.
