I caved and got a Cambodian girl and a pineapple boy. The girl's name is Marilyn, after Marilyn Monroe (she has a scar that looks like a beauty mark) and the boy's name is Molokai "The Spaz" Pineapple. Marilyn:    The Spaz:   Uncompromising position #1.  Uncompromising position #2. "OH NOES! She caught me humping my turtle!" |

Thanks, icky.  The Spaz has come around and doesn't spaz as much anymore, but Marilyn still refuses food.  She's picky. Such a diva! Won't eat until I practically powder her pellets and then soak them, and then she'll mouth the pieces and then spit them out. I had to get rid of the turtle because I wasn't sure if it was leeching chemicals into the water or if The Spaz really was just... a spaz. The turtle's just chillin' by himself right now. Once Molokai's health is better and he's de-stressed from moving into his new home, I'll give the turtle another shot. Does anyone recognize this decoration? Anyone know if it's safe for aquariums? I bought it at a fish store; it's handpainted, and the parent company is Blue Ribbon decorations. |

hmm.... i had that same problem when i got KingOfHearts,,,, but he did like the discus food i got, i have to soak them in water as well THEN give them some,,,,, if u want the name they r ((NUTRAFIN floating morsals)),,, all my bettas seem to love it hope spaz is better and i think u should soak that ornament in some water for a while like 2 weeks maybe and see if any paint or if the color rubs off after all that time, i bought an ornament once and it actualy started peeling and 2 of my pearl gouramies ate the peels and died !!!! i was sooo mad i wish the company would go bankrupt! .... good luck with ur new cuties! |

Hey minaku your girl is the same as mine! Except probably yours is longer and mine is fatter.
:-) That last pic would be a great addition to a newspaper. Headline: Betta Humps Turtle! :-)

Oh and my girl's pure pink on the body no pineapple gene near the back fin. You take nice pictures. I cant seem to take a picture of any of my fish! :-(

Minaku, I had an octopus decoration that looked like that...it did fine in my tank for a while, then i took it out to scrub the algae off and the paint started to come right off...so I chucked it, and won't be buying one like that again.  I can't beleive the stuff they try to call 'aquarium safe' sometimes. |
