My betta, Betty, has started getting stripes when I feed her mosquito larvae WHICH SHE LOVES. Could she be getting turned on by food?

She's just showing that she's ready for lovin'. When females are kept in proper conditions and fed nutritious high protein foods they will show these stripes. It's one of the signs you look for before breeding. It's a sign of a healthy betta. ;D

Just a note... When males show stripes it's commonly out of fear. We call them "fear stripes". They are located along the length of the body and are usually light colored. That's different from the stripes you're seeing along the female, near the head.
