This is Copper showing his manliness to Carrot! This is Carrot squaring off with Copper (whose tail fin you can just make out in the other tank)

Rachel, actually my three year old son picked out and named Carrot, lol. I thought it was cute so the name has stuck!
BCroft, LOL. I got these two at Petland. Our Petlands here feature 'regular' Bettas, as well as several of the more fancy Bettas (halfmoons, deltas, DT's, etc). I usually hate to buy from them, because I don't like to support Petland, but I felt so sorry for Copper that I couldn't help it. And since it was half-price day on regular Bettas, I let my son pick out one for himself, and thus we ended up with Carrot as well.

Figures, none in MA! The only place that sells Crowntails and HalfMoons around my home town is a local pet store. You have to be a gold member for 2 months (free card),and give them a sample of your waters PH and everything before you can buy them.

Actually that is very responsible of the Pet Store A lot of people just buy Bettas because they are cheap and nice to look at, and apparently (according to most Pet Stores) can live in pretty little cups or wine glasses or some other crazy thing. This Pet Store sounds like they are making an effort to prevent a lot of Bettas being neglected or killed by people making careless mistakes with them. It might be a lot of hassle, but it does show some care on the part of the Pet Store, and that is a good thing

Yes, they are very fond of their fish I'm a month and a half into the gold card lol. I dont have any more room for more bettas though They also keep the bettas in a 10 gallon triple or quad divided tank, which sounds small, but is MUCH bigger than those little cups most of them just sit in.
