still starting , im getting a bag full of smooth rocks and some volcano stones and i will change the bottom to sand,,, slowly i will do all of this but these are my start  |

sorry... i have three as a starter, although they arent from the same continent  they dont care about each other, the first is an albino oscar, my fav made me think of adding more oscars and only oscars, then there is an electic blue hap. and a johanny. i love the blue in them and im waiting to see if they bring some electric yellow labs, they would look amazing, first im gona change the set up and tyhen add the friends |

I love cichlids.I've raised the african cichlids before.Just make sure you have lots of hiding places for them I used to used small clay pots or pvc..They each seem to own a certain part of the tank..
My favorites also are the oscars I had a total of three...."ruby
" was my albino oscar and she was 17" long. I have to tell you they are so intelligent..When My poodle would sit on the end of couch. Ruby would try and splash her. I'm moving form Florida to Arizona in March .Once I'm there I am going to setup a cichlid tank again..Good luck..

i didnt know oscars grow THAT big! cool now im even more excited , the three seem to get along fine and they ignore each other. the Johanny dug his own trench in the back of the huge planter cave i have for them and has tought my naughty loaches a lesson not to pick on fish smaller than them i saw some great yellow labs today i want more i just have to wait to get the ATMAN filter,,, HUGE filter for a perfectly clean tank  best of luck on ur move |
