(click on picture to make it larger) This is my new HM black green lace ... haven't named him yet. Any suggestions? I think he is so beautiful (this picture is nice , but in real life he is such a vivid metallic green) ... as soon as I saw him I knew I had to have him! I just got him and a matching female on the weekend from Grandbetta Canada ... she had amazing fish and great prices! Her Bettas are imported from Thailand, and she has a huge selection of tail types and colours ... this is a link to her site grandbettacanada.tripod.com/

I guess that depends on what you consider expensive .... He's my first betta from Thailand, bought from an importer, so he's more than the pet store varieties. He cost $35.00 Canadian $, and the feamale was an additional $10.00. I thought that was really good ... they are so healthy and all of her bettas are only 3 - 4 months old, so I I hope to have them for a few years.
Check her site, she lists prices for all the ones she lists.

I thought it was a good deal ... Livia (the owner of Grand Betta Canada) is really nice , and very passionate about bettas ... she truely loves them, and isn't in it to make a tonne of $ ... just wants to bring some unique types into this part of the country. Go see her site ... nice stuff!
The picture I posted is the one from her website of my fishy (still nameless ... but I am thinking Paspatou from Around the World in 80 Days by Jules Verne), and I haven't tried to get a shot of him and his lady yet ... she is lovely too, although she is not as dark as him ... mostly metallic light green (like aged green copper). I've got to get her set up in a better container (don't have a tank for her yet, just a large water jug) I'll take a picture of her in that if you promise not to laugh!
Thnak you all for all the compliments ... I love them so much.

I took a few pics of my boy,and they didn't turn out too bad ... But didn't have as much luck with her (she's shy, and the flash makes her look bronze, not green!) I'll try to get a better one of her in the daytime, without a flash. (his tank has a light, so didn't have to use a flash!) He likes to pose - She doesn't like the camera - and this is my "Drama King" -- He's slightly mustard Gas, a veiltail that I couldn't resist, and I call him Dijon -

They are both lovely. Are you close enough to her that she doesn't have to ship the fish? How are they settling in so far?

I am in love with Dijon! He looks very similar to a male veiltail that I used to have.

Rachel ... I live 10 minutes from GrandBetta Canda , so she let me go to her home and choose my fish from some she preselected for me, based on my colour and tail preferences (300 would have been too hard to choose from!). I am very lucky (but she's getting Orange Half Moons in 2 weeks, so being so close might be unlucky - for my wallet! ) Accountingchick ... I'm glad you like Dijon- when I saw him, I knew i had to have him (he's not a special import or anything fancy, but I think he's lovely, and he does too! He's a bit of a ham, and loves attention!) He has smokey looking ends on all of his fins, and I think was exposed to an extrem in ph, as his ventrals are all kinky (someone told me once that ph changes cause that) Thanks for the kind word ... I'll tell my fellas! ;D
