Hi everybody! My name is Crisellyson Soliman from Yokosuka Naval Base, Japan. Since this forum does not have an intro page, I will do it here. I apologize if this is wrong..... I am not new in the care of bettas, I have bred them before but the eggs were eaten... But I do wish somebody would teach me how to properly breed the fish, which is why I joined the forum! I also joined because a member of guppy forums, which I am also in named twoluvcats suggested that I go to the forum since I asked where in the world is the betta forum? Thanks twoluvcats! Well, I hope to meet you guys as I post here at HB! Many questions, I have!

Hello and welcome! You may not find a lot about breeding here at HB, but hopefully you'll still find us an excellent resource for betta and fish care. We have a lot of great members and moderators, such as twoluvcats who you've already met.

Hi guys I changed my accont since my I forgot my password LOL. I am now known as bettamaster. Peace up! bettamaster, That's a lovely orange and black plakat. I have a few plakats, a big turquoise male named Teddy Bear and a steel blue male that is so dark everyone thinks he's black. My friend bred him and gave him to me a long time ago. His name is JD (Jim Dandy) after the way he shows off to females. He's my oldest betta. If you have the chance I love to hear about betta keeping in Japan. Maybe you can tell us about where/how bettas are sold. Are nice halfmoon bettas available in stores? I bet a lot of Thai bettas find their way to you. When bettas are shipped to the US they go through a transhipper and the process is costly and some bettas suffer (usually from the second shipping) What's your water like, what do you use to condition it? Do you have chloramines in the water? Anyway if you have the chance, it would be interesting to learn about betta keeping in Japan.
