Everyone loves music! So let's talk about all your favorite music here. Remember, no hating on other's music
Anyways, my favorite band of all time are the Smashing Pumpkins. Billy Corgan is a musical genius. Because of them, I went out and bought my first guitar, and if it weren't for them, I wouldn't have the motivation to make my own music and play guitar as much as I do. They influenced me in ways I cannot even explain. My favorite songs are Where Boys Fear to Tread, The Everlasting Gaze, The Imploding Voice (a la my username), Today, XYU, 1979, Tear, Geek USA, Cherub Rock, Today and so much more.
I also love Auf Der Maur. For those who don't know, Melissa Auf Der Maur (the band's frontwoman and bass player), is from Canada, and she played bass for Hole and the Smashing Pumpkins. Last year, she released her solo album, and I am in love with it. Ever since I saw them when they came to Winnipeg, I love them even more. Melissa is hands down the best female bassist out there. Not far behind would be Paz Lenchantin. Anyways, favorite songs include Skin Receiver and Good News. I reccomend everyone checking out her CD if you're into just loud rock music. Amazing.
Other bands I like are Nirvana and Hole. Classic bands. I also have a soft spot for Canadian singer/songwriter Alanis Morissette.
As for playing music, I was in a concert band in junior high school, and I played the trombone for 4 years. Since then, I quit. Currently, I play guitar and bass. Electric guitar is my instrument of choice, but I do have an acoustic and a classical as well. I also have a bass that I'm learning. I also want to learn drums in the near future. I have a band. We are currently un-named, but we've recorded a few demos in my friend's basement on his iMac computer. We're also rehearing a few cover songs and more of our own material for a gig, hopefully planned for Christmas. I play lead electric guitar and lead vocals in the band.
So what's your favorite music? And anyone else enjoy playing music?
