St. Paul Mn is really nice and artsy. The people are nice and there are always things going on. I loved!! Ft Bragg California but I am guessing that it is expensive to live there ;D MN is great if you can stand the winters ;P

I suggest Boston. I'm a little biased, but it's a comparatively very safe city, and there are *tons* of colleges. Sixty something in the city itself. It does have a high living cost, though.
Also, Sarasota and Daytona in Florida are very, very nice and fairly inexpensive. I cant say I know anything about colleges there, though.

I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area. Wonderful weather, lots to do, convenient to nearly anything, and warm, friendly people . I believe it's a comparatively inexpensive city as well....not the cheapest, but certainly not the most expensive. What will make the final decision as to whether or not you relocate, and where you end up?

I agree with cellogirl. St. Paul or Minneapolis Minnesota are good cities to live in if you can handle the cold winter. The people of Minnesota are so friendly and hospitible, the landscape is green, and there is alot of lakes to hang out at.

I grew up in lincoln park, nj and spent many summers between there and morristown...montclair is a nice area, but the cost of living in all the areas you mentioned is comparatively very high. boston is definitely a college town but expensive... i don't have much specific info on ithaca but the whole northeast u.s. tends to be more expensive to live in ....

Maryland is a pretty nice place to live in, we have some pretty good colleges, you have Ocean City to go to, theres places in PA like gettysburg... Overall the people are decent, you couldn't go around hugging everyone though

Another vote for Minneapolis, Minnesota! The Uptown area is a great, cultural place to live, you're right by a bunch of beautiful lakes, and there is always something to do!

Melrose is a great town in MA... its a nice suburban town with almost no crime rate, and it's only 7 miles from boston! So if you dont want to deal with traffic then you dont have to ;D
Again, it's in MA so property is pretty pricey...

Rochester, ny is awesome. the University of Rochester is a great med school, and Rochester Institute of Technology is good. Its also the birthplace of Kodak, but they are'nt hiring anyone anymore, just firing. The people are great, and the cost of living isn't as bad as big cities (rochester is medium sized) also, the Brighton schools are great (brighton is just outside of Rochester).
