Does anyone have an outstanding book on bettas that they would recommend?
I'm looking to purchase a few online, but it's hard to tell from the overview how much valuable information they actually contain or if it's just mainly pictures. I would like one that is pretty thorough and covers a wide range of information.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

The one by Barrons, which I beleive is just called "Bettas", is the most up to date and recent book, but even this one is at least five years old. All the other ones are really kind of useless, a lot of outdated information.

I have the Barron's book. It goes over all of the species of betta...not just B. Splendens. It goes into detail about spawning bubblenesters and mouthbrooders, and genetics. I was hoping it was just about Betta splendens, but it wasn't. It is informative, though and pretty up to date.

My personal favorite for ease of reading and not being TOO technical is Mic and Maddy Hargrove's "The Betta", part of the "An Owner's Guide to a Happy Healthy Pet" series. Never ceases to amaze me that the pet store sells these books and then ignores them in how they keep their bettas.
