Has anyone else noticed that a certain color of betta will have some of the same personality traits as bettas of the same color?
Maybe I'm crazy, but of the bettas that I've had it seems that the blue ones like attention more than other bettas.

My Giovanni, who is a currently a turquoise-type blue (I say currently becasue he has been changing colors since I rescued him from WalMart) REALLY likes attention. Of all my guys, he is by far the friendliest. Kang Pei, is a deep indigo blue and he is the most reserved of my guys, but he has always been the champion flarer! He even flared at his plant when I first put it in his container. lol

That's an interesting observation! I would think maybe it's just a coincidence, but I'd be interested to hear if others have seen the same thing. All of my guys have acted differently even if their coloring was similar.

My little red boy Jake (RIP...) was by far the friendliest. He was always my little baby. Elwood (all white) was just kinda there, Wolfgang (Green/Red butterfly) acts big and tough, but is really a 'fraidy cat (had him in with a female in a 2.5G divided just for a quick water change on the female's tank. She got into Wolfgang's side, and he ran away lol). George (blues and greens)...well, is rather eccentric. Now as for my girls, Rhapsody (in blue) is kinda the big sis, rolling her eyes at everyone else, Lucy (the redhead) is the mean one, and Christine (white with a blue and red tail) is also pretty mean, so they bicker a lot.

My betta is dark red and green with blue accents ;D. I've had him for 3 months and still don't have a name (HELP!). But I've noticed that my fish is very hyper and peppy all of the time. Whenever I come into the room he (at least I think "he" is a "he") swims really fast in his bowl. And when he wants food, he makes bubbles at the top of his tank and makes little popping noises . My sister's fish on the other hand, is very gloomy and always hangs out at the bottom of his bowl . He is blue and somewhat brown and she has had him (?) as long as I've ahd mine. Please reply <3TrueBlueBettaLover

My blues have been the friendliest. Merlyn was almost all blue except for some red on his anal fin and was a sweety. Tovi was blue but she had red in those crevices in her fins and is by far the friendliest. Trumpet, who was steel blue was a complete snot... he never liked me lol. And Morty, who is green/blue/red is okay.

Blues in my experience are a little more feisty....Reds are laid back, cambodians are gentle and yellows seem to be shy...

I personally think that every betta is an individual. However, in my breeding experiences reds tend to be fairly aggressive when spawning.

My red boy chased six Silver Sharks like a herd of sheep in the store ;D He didn't even need to bother flaring at them!
I have a dark blue & pink female who's quite aggressive, too.

Most of my friendly bettas are all blue with the red/purple stained fins. They seem to be the most observant of all the bettas i have.

My Charlie is blue with some green in him he is the most friendly of my 3 bettas although I have had him for almost 2 years now and my other two only for a few months now, so that may have somehting to do with it to.
