BettaMVP~ I feel your pain! We live in Navy housing, so other than my boys, I only have Hana the rescued beagle/husky mix and an African dwarf frog! Well I did have two frogs...did you know they can be cannibalistic? Well now I do!  |

This is so cool. I'm getting to know all of you in such a friendly format.
My other pet is Cybus, an all-black short haired cat. She is 13 years old and still kicking with the best of them. I live in a small apartment in Philadelphia so I can't really have any more pets, but the bettas provided a great solution. I grew up with dogs of all breeds .. bassetts, muts, labs ..... so now I'm a cat & fish person.
I love reading all your stories.

Wow! I'm suprised to see that there are a decent amount of horse lovers here  I'm a sophomore at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown PA, majoring in Equine Science. I dont own any horses at the moment since I had to sell mine to go off to school, but I'll be spendin alot of time with my care-horse for this year, Monte! I also have a cat, Lucy, who is an alpha female with an attitude, but has slowed down some due to heart disease. I used to have many more animals, but I really dont have anywhere to keep them at school. And last but not least, Maraschino, my brand new cherry and teal Betta! |

Hi! I think animal lovers are the best people! I have, in addition to 3 male bettas and one female betta, *6 White Cloud Mountain Minnows *2 panda corys *2 pearl gouramis *1 gold inca snail *1 west highland white terrier who hates it when I talk to my fish (jealousy) I frequently "baby sit" for my daughters ferrett, hamster, bearded dragon and 2 male bettas.  |

aside from the five lovely boys at school, there's an adorable maltese dog named jesse who lives with my parents. we don't know how old he is, because he basically walked into our house about 8 years ago and refused to leave (and my mom was surprised she's not allergic to him!) there are also 2 female parakeets at my parent's house. we used to have lots more...started with 2, then they kept having babies. these girls are 9 years old, and rocking it in their old age! |

We have almost as many animals as people in my family... Aside from my betta Mizu (Jap. for "water")... - A Bernese Mt. Dog named "High Alps Jack's Cassandra," nicked Casey (or "Brat," depending on how she's acting)

It's getting kind of ridiculous this year...
- One betta at Mom's house (who was at school last year): Zeus.
- Three indoor kitties at Mom's house (2 female, one male who climbed into my car with me this summer and followed me home - I swear!): Shadow, Lilit, and Scootch.
- Two indoor kitty-boys at my Dad's house: Bodi and Storm
- SIX! Bettas in my dorm room!! My Perseus, my roommate's PB, and the four rescues: Melete, Ares, Mneme, and Aeode.
I'm running out of horizontal space... Can I keep tanks on the floor?

Aside from Jake the betta,
2 goldfish (5 years old)
1 catfish (7 years old) I guess I should name him Methuselah
1 pug (13 YO) Lacy
1 mutt (can't remember exactly what mix he is) (1.5 YO) Scruff (not my idea for the name)
1 anole (5 YO) (elwood)
and a really attention starved 83 Olds Delta 88. I mention this as a pet because it really is. It's one of the family now.
In the past, we had 2 more pugs, but they died this past spring. They were Rinky and Dinky, my sister's names.
Anyway, glad to be here.

While I love animals of all kinds, I generally go for "tank critters" in my house. I have had hamsters, gerbils, and an occasional rabbit, a stink-pot turtle, parakeets.
Right now I have 7 bettas (Bama, Thorn, Spirit, Tamlin, Sapphire, Citrine, and Diamond)
1 Australian Bearded Dragon (Dragon is his name. I guess I am lucky I don't have 7 fish named "Fish")
and 2 Garden Slugs being kept in an empty jar. (don't ask)
I also have 1 wonderful hubby and 3 beautiful little girls
(1 of which has a betta of her own)

Hey all, I don't get here as often as I used to but here is my line-up. 8 Male bettas: Shimmer, Elf, DayStar, FireMage, Big Red Guy, Blue Ninja, and two without names as of yet. 8 Female bettas: Sweetie, Anna, Krimson, M&M, Purdy, Kes, Daisy, SunDancer 3 dogs, Diamond (Pit Bull) Mr Bean (Boston Terrier) and Sarsaparilla (Boston Terrier). 1 Very Large Cat, Mr Pix 2 Guniea Pigs, Cocoa and Ranea 1 Golden Apple Snail, Goldie I don't think I missed any body, At least here is hoping. |
