The only thing keeping me from a total menagerie is that I live at my parents' and haven't found a job yet. However, between all of us we've accumulated:
*6 male bettas *1 redcap oranda *1 fantail *2 albino cories *1 pleco *1 15" beagle from the county shelter *3 barn cats *1 budgeriar and *1 18-year-old off-track thoroughbred that we got when he was four. We showed 4-H with him until both us kids got too old, and now he's semi-retired.

Do my 1000+ Teddy Bears count ;D? I have allergies so for now Kaluha will have to be an only pet, although I am actively looking for a friend for him. Just haven't decided if the best thing is to find him a little tank buddy or buy another tank and place it next to his with another Betta. (Open to suggestions!)
All:
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thanks for all of the support over the past few months. With your assistance I have moved from nervous fish mom to semi-comfortable fish mom. (that is until the next weird thing he does and I will be back to hypochondriac fish mom ;D)
Sheila:
Will say a prayer for your husband until his safe return!

1 dog (beagle/shelty mix): Ariel 1 parrot (yellow headed amazon, or something like that): Pepper (most annoying bird ever. He hates my mom, so if she comes in my room, he will start to scream. If hes out of his cage when she comes in, he'll puff up his neck and prepare to attack. It's actually pretty funny. He's a pretty nice bird when he's not screaming for whatever reason)
now for the fish... 4 bettas: Marlin (named after the Florida Marlins), Clay (named after my fave singer, Clay Aiken), Chandler & Monica (named after duh, Chandler and Monica on Friends, my absolute favorite show ever!) 2 flame tetras: No names yet 1 pleco: Gandalf 2 Chinese Algae Eaters: no names 6 leopard danios: Smallest one is Stick, other 5 not named 11 ghost shrimp: no names, cause who knows who is who! 4 black kuhli loaches: Jack, Will, Captain Barbosa, and Commodor (yes, I watching Pirates of the Caribbean when I named them) 16 guppies: Next (mean story behind this one...he likes to spend most of his time hiding behind one of the filters and I was worried that he was sick and going to die. My dad started calling him "Next", as in the next one to die. Unfortunately the name has stuck so far!), Bloat ('cause he's really fat), Sunny (yellow!), Marilyn (she looks like she has black lipstick on), and the 3 Muskateers (they are ALWAYS together); other 8 not named.

I was reading all of yall's other pets and decided to put mine on here too! ;D I have a daschund named Tootsie (she's brown and looks like a Tootise roll...hence the name ). I have one male betta named Pluto (named after my favorite planet!! ;D). I also have 9 hermit crabs: - Sebastian (yes...named from The Little Mermaid - Nova (I love astronomy, so a few of them have astronomical names ) - Pearl - Rose - Triton - Lily - Leo (like the constellation...astronomy again! also my zodiac sign) - Orion (another constellation. He is named so because Orion means "hunter" and when I first got him, he got scared...I guess he thought he was going to fall off of my hand...and pinched onto my skin...OUCH!!) - Pinchers (he was rescued from a preschool classroom...the teacher thought he would make a good cass pet for 1 year olds!! She finally realized it was not such a good idea so she gave him to me!) That's all for now! The hermit crabs and betta are about all that will fit in my little dorm room. *Amelia*

I'm new, too, and the variety seems typical:
six mighty hunter cats, who spend more time playing with toys in the kids' room than the kids do,(Myrrh, Lemma, Pasque, Mace, Haven, and Lyric)
one St. Bernard (Titus) who outweighs me by >20 pounds and loves cats (also keeps bears away),
and one stunning first fish, Tempo, or according to the kids --"BruceLee."
what fun! hermit

I love animals too. I currently have: Two Basset Hounds-Bartley and Lyla. One mini rex bunny-Beatrix. One cranky cockatiel-Renfield. Moby the betta (old geezer). Sigfried the betta(young dashing fellow). Aquarium with zebra danios, dwarf African frogs, and corydoras.
I am involved in Basset rescue. My hounds, bunny and bird all came to me as rescues.

I grew up with animals all my life, so did my hubby, so of coarse we have more animals than we can probably handle, lol. I'll start with my animals.
Tanoba (half red husky and half chocolate lab) 9yrs. old Snow and Ghost (twin white cats) 6 1/2 yrs. old, Ghost passed away about a month ago. Callyme ( calico cat) 2 1/2 yrs. old. Corcoran aka Cori (blue and red male betta) just got him a few weeks ago.
My four yr. old, Lou has: Lulabelle (half german shepard and half blue heeler) 4 yrs. old. She was Lou's first b-day present from her older brother and sister. Mena (calice cat) 1 1/2 yrs old. Given to her by a neighbor. Ela (a hen) almost 2 yrs. old. Henna (a red and blue male betta) I just gave her this past weekend for her 4th b-day.
Then we have a bunch of babies right now too. Cally, (my calico) has 6 kittens, 4 wks old. Mena, (Lou's calico) has 4 kittens, 3 wks old. Lulabelle, (Lou's dog) has 9 puppies. Plus we has 5 kittens about 6 wks old wander up to our house that we are taken care of. So we have our hands pretty full. But I can say this they all get the attention they need cause we are a big family. It is my hubby and I plus a 17 yr old, 16 yr old, 4 yr old, and two 19 mo. old. We love all our animals and take the best care of them we can. The puppies will be ready to find new homes in about 3 wks, Cally's kittens in 4 wks, Mena's in 5 wks, and the wander kittens at any time.
Hope to talk to ya'll soon,
BettaLove
