Hey, Y'all I haven't been here in so long that I had to re-register. I couldn't remember any of my old info, user name, password, etc. Oh well. I think I was IrridescentBlue. I am a stay at home, homeschooling mother of 3. We live in the country in Lafayette County, Mississippi. I started keeping fish with bettas but have moved into other species now as well. For a while I didn't have any bettas, just other tanks, but I started to miss them, and I happened to see some real cuties in the lfs just as I started to miss having bettas around. I have about 50 fish altogether, but only 7 of them are bettas. That's not too bad, eh? My betta babies right now are all female, like my children There is Serena, she is blue purple in her body with red fins that have a blue edge to them. (No pic yet, but coming soon.) Sharing Serena's 10 gallon tank, on the other side of the divider, is Kinda. Kinda is turquoise. I have another turquoise in a different divided 10 gallon. Her name is Mina. On the other side of the divider is Alustriel. She is royal blue. My new crowntail babies are Diana, Caroline, and Anastasia. I'll post some pics when I get my camera fixed.

Okay. My name is Katie and about a month ago I bought my very first betta. I think he is a crown-tail, but I'm not exactly sure. After about a week, I decided to name him Fishstick. =) Fishstick is still a happy and healthy fish and probably happier than at the store we bought him from. My avatar is Fishstick. It's kind of hard to see, since he was trying to swim away from the camera, but you can get an idea of how cute he is, hehe. He has a purple tank with purple rock pebble thingys and a silk plant and a hidey place. I think he really likes it. I don't know really what else to say, that's about it. =)

Hey, I'm new to the site, but have been keeping fish for a few years now. My first fish was Bettas. At one time I had four only one belonging to my daughter. They ended up passing this past winter cuz our heater went out and we didn't have any way to keep them warm no matter what we did. All our heated tanks had fish in them that made it n possible to put them in there in fear of an overstock or incapatiblity. I now have a 50 gallon tank that was given to me by a friend who's health was keeping her from taking care of it properly. It houses a pacu and an oscar. Both about 5 yrs old. My 10 gallon now houses an albino cory cat by itself since I quite breeding feeder guppies. And we have a new betta that I got for my daughters b-day this month. Right now he is in a half gallon hex cuz of problems with the 10 gallon. Once I get the problems resolved he will be moved to it. We also had 2 dogs, and 5 cats.
Pets: Crazy- 5yr old pacu Oscar- 5yr old oscar Dobby- 1yr old albino cory cat Argus- new betta not sure of age, he is blue n red Tanoba- 10 yr old half husky half lab. Belle- 5 yr old mix breed Snow- 7 yr old white cat Calli- 4yr old black calico cat Kalli- 1yr old black calico cat(Calli's daughter) Nina- 1yr old gray calico cat(Calli's niece), her mom disappeared shortly after we moved her. Clyde- 1yr old black cat (Calli's son), he is also our miracle cat. He survived a dog attack with only a broken leg which is now healed but he still has a limp.
Some of my cats will be going to new homes soon, I have friends that wanted them and were unable to get them when they were younger because of where they lived. They are moving soon and will be able to take them then.
I have become addicted to my fish so it's hard to keep up with the animals now cuz I feel they are not all get the attention they deserve individually. But with my friends able to take theirs now that will lighten the load some. I love my animals, but I really love my fish and wanted to do the best I can for all of them.

Hi this is my first post and I do not have a Betta yet. I just purchased a 5 gallon tank and am starting a fishless cycle. I can not wait to pick out my first Betta! I am a little bit partial to the blues.

Hey everyone, My name's Chris, I'm 16, and I'm from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. I first started betta keeping about 3 years ago when I got two as a gift. Unfortunately, I was young and I didn't really care about them that much, so when they died, I just didn't really care. However, recently I just got back into bettas when I went to my pet store the other day. I now have 2 male bettas, each with their own tank, sitting in my room. They're beautiful. Anyways, I'm in grade 11, and I enjoy listening to music, watching TV, computers and movies. My favorite bands include the Smashing Pumpkins, Auf Der Maur, Hole and Nirvana. Anyways, I hope to have fun here and get to know you guys better -Chris

I just first noticed this thread. Even though I have been a member for the last month, I will bore you all with my life story. ;D My name is Mandy and I am 28 years old. I live in Sheridan Wyoming. I moved here 3 1/2 years ago from a town that is near Boise Idaho called Caldwell. I was born and raised there. I decided to go back to school a couple of years ago and I am 3 1/2 semesters away from getting an A.S. degree in Accounting. That is where the accountingchick name came from. My long term goal is to go for my CPA. I will probably be really old by the time I am done with my schooling, but who said life is simple. I am engaged to be married to a man who is 19 1/2 years older than I am. That is shocking to some people, but he looks young for his age and I have been very happily dating him for 4 1/2 years now. After I receive my A.S. degree we are going to get married. My goal is to get married in Vegas by Elvis, but we have not made any set plans yet. ;D I have been raising bettas off and on since the age of 12. My dad loved fish keeping, and kind of got me hooked on the hobby. I currently have one yellow male betta whose name is Little Charlie. He is like my child. I have read some of the other intros and I have found that I have some of the same interests as Teresa. My favorite scent is vanilla, I love to go camping and fishing, and I love the TV shows CSI and the Amazing Race as well. Now that I have bored you all to sleep, that is my story in a nutshell. *edited for spelling errors*

Hi, Just signed up. My name is Sarah. I work as an archaeologist and am under contract with a firm, so I work when they have it. As pets go there are 4 cats, 2 dogs, a parrot, 6 tortoises, 4 bettas and 1 cory. Two of the bettas just came home this week, one orange with irredescent blue veil tail and a grey and blue crowntail who didn't seem like he faired the best in the wait in his cup (a tad constipated and maybe a bit of fin rot although it might be his coloring). My eldest Dude has been with me a year and a half and recently got into a 2.5 gallon tank where he lives with the cory at the moment while I look at bigger arrangements for the two. The other betta is a lovely orange fella I got my mom who is happy as a clam living in the kitchen

Hi! My name is Christina and I just bought my roommate a betta for Christmas (yet to be named...i just call him Fish) and thought he was so cute that I went out and bought two more for myself. Unfortunately those two, Jim and Buddy, died less than 48 hours after I got them. I went to a different, smaller, pet store and bought Little Buddy. Jim Jr. is pending arrival at the pet store, due Thursday. I'm a university student, and I also work full time. I've never had fish in my life and thought they were boring and pointless until the car ride home with Fish where I quickly became attached. I have two cats named Sprite and Dodie and I'll be getting pet rats in January. My fish are in large vases right now (4.5L), but they will be upgraded in the future. They seem happy, swimming around and building bubble nests. Fish is a dark blue, and in the right light you can see the purple and red in him. He is not shy and almost always swims up to me when I'm looking in his vase. Little Buddy is a light blue with some white. I put my finger up to the glass beside him and he swims away as quickly as he can...we laugh because he's supossed to be a "fighting fish", but instead he's gained the nickname "Scaredy Cat". I'm happy to be part of an online community again, its been awhile
